I went to Las Vegas last spring break and was amazed at how BIG everything is! We stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel which is on the strip. It was really cool because we could see New York New York right out our window (New York New York is a huge hotel that is modeled after New York city - it has a roller coaster and lots of sky scrapers and the Brooklyn bridge and even the Statue of Liberty, on a miniature scale!)
There are plenty of places to go and things to see there. The food is excellent - everywhere has buffets that are incredible! There is a great Outlet mall close and you could go see the Hoover Dam by
helicopter. Some good shows we saw included Lance Burton the magician,
The Pirates of the Caribbean outdoor show, and Louie Anderson a
comedian. Thumbs up for all the shows. Another cool thing to see is Caesar's Palace - a hotel and shopping mall. Those looking for a thrill
- go to The Stratosphere and ride The Big Shot. Caution - go to the
bathroom before you ride.
After about four days though, I was ready to go home. It was neat to experience the whole Las Vegas deal but I am not much for smoky casinos or lots of people or crowded buses (they packed so many people on our bus that it bottomed out on us and the bus broke!)
